Inventory Accountant

Location: Stamford, CT (100% in-office)
Compensation: $75K

Position Summary

A growing consumer products company is seeking an Inventory Accountant to support inventory and accounting operations across multiple locations. This position will report to the Controller and play a key role in ensuring inventory accuracy, reconciliation, and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, inventory receipts, and invoices
  • Reconcile inventory balances across multiple locations and research discrepancies
  • Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end close activities
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support ad hoc reporting and analysis related to inventory and accounting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience preferred
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
