Job description

Overview

The Accountant will be primarily responsible for assisting the Accounting Director with the day-to-day and month-end accounting and inventory tasks. A successful person in this role will possess strong organization and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work with and learn from others.

The Position reports into the Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid schedule in office Tuesday-Thursday. #LI-MS1


Overview of Responsibilities
  • Prepare weekly and period-end entries and account analyses, assist with account reconciliations as it relates to Sales/COGS/inventory related activities for stores and DCs with appropriate internal control documentation and support when required.
  • Perform transactional research related to inventory shrink and margin including book inventory, sales, cost of goods sold, rebates, and shrink reserve.
  • Perform margin and shrink reporting
  • Perform corporate approval for physical inventories
  • Research variances between book and physical inventory values and work with field personnel and/or other departments to resolve inventory variances.
  • Coordination with stores and 3rd party count services for inventory counts
  • Perform processing of eCom partner POs and Invoices (within Workday)
  • Perform processing of food safety recalls
  • Partner with the Business Improvement Process team on reviews of shrink, cost of goods and margin outliers (items with zero cost, items with extreme cost, etc).
  • Create ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
  • Serve as primary backup for other departmental tasks as needed

Qualifications
  • 2+ years Accounting experience
  • Excellent communication skills across functions and levels
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge
  • Workday experience is preferred but not required
