Poste - Concepteurrice de Jeux Senior

En tant que Concepteurrice de Jeux Senior chez Haven, vous developperez et modifierez les fonctionnalites du jeu qui repondent a notre vision du game design. Vous travaillerez en etroite collaboration avec les membres d'autres equipes, telles que l'equipe artistique, l'equipe de programmation et l'equipe World, afin de concevoir et d'implementer des fonctionnalites qui creeront une experience de jeu reussie.  Vous etes passionnee par la conception de jeux et capable de transmettre cette passion dans votre travail et dans vos interactions avec les personnes avec lesquelles vous travaillez chez Haven.

Responsabilites et taches

  •  Concevoir des fonctionnalites de jeu qui correspondent a l'orientation creative du jeu.

  • Equilibrer les valeurs du jeu pour creer une experience amusante.

  • Travailler avec les concepteurrices audio, artistiques, techniques et autres pour creer une experience coherente.

  • Tester les fonctionnalites pour s'assurer qu'elles repondent aux objectifs de conception.

  • Rediger la documentation relative a la conception des fonctionnalites et des systemes. 

Qualifications recherchees

  •  Solide experience professionnelle en tant que concepteurrice de jeux ou dans une fonction connexe, avec au moins un titre commercialise (PC ou console), de preference un jeu a forte systemique.

  •  Comprehension profonde et passion pour les principes de conception et de mecanique des jeux.

  • Bonne methodologie et capacite a resoudre les problemes, avec un accent sur l'iteration rapide pour atteindre l'equilibre, le rythme et l'amusement.

  • Collaborer efficacement avec des developpeureuses d'autres disciplines et etre pret a diriger des efforts multidisciplinaires cibles.

  • Capacite a creer des documents de conception de haut niveau et des concepts de jeu.  

Qualifications souhaitees

  • Experience en matiere d'operations en direct et de developpement de jeux multijoueurs.

  • Experience avec Unreal Engine.

SENIOR GAME DESIGNER

Our first new IP for PlayStation is on track to deliver a AAA multiplayer experience with a vision to build a systemic and evolving world focused on freedom, thrill, and playfulness that will keep players entertained and engaged for years.

Haven joined the PlayStation Studios family in 2022, and we are on track to build an exclusive new IP for Playstation and grow the first Sony game development team in Canada.

Position - As a Senior Game Designer at Haven you will develop and modify game features that fulfill our game design vision. You will work closely with people from other teams, such as Art, Programming, and World, to design and implement  features that will create a successful gameplay experience.  You are passionate about game design and able to transmit that passion in the work that you do and your collaborative interaction with people you work with at Haven. 

Reporting:

The Game Designer will report to the Lead Game Designer.

Responsibilities

  • Design game features that match the creative direction of the game.

  • Balance gameplay values to create a fun experience.

  • Work with audio, art, engineering, and other designers to create a cohesive experience.

  • Test features to ensure they meet the design goals.

  • Write design documentation for features and systems. 

Requirements

  • Solid professional experience as a Game Designer or a related role, with at least one shipped title (PC or Console) preferably a heavily systemic game.

  • Experience/Strong Interest multiplayer game mode and game structure

  • Deep understanding and passion for the principles of game design and  mechanics.

  • Good methodology and problem solving ability, with a focus on rapid iteration to achieve balance, pacing, and fun.

  • Effective collaborator with developers from other disciplines, along with willingness to lead focused multidisciplinary efforts.

  • Ability to create high level design documentation and game concepts.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Live Operations, Multiplayer game development experience.

  • Experience with Unreal Engine.

  • Knowledge/experience of designing for accessibility.
