Job Title: Finance Project Manager

 

The Finance Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing finance-related projects that support the organization's financial strategy and operational goals. This role partners closely with finance leadership, accounting teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with financial compliance and reporting standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage finance-related projects such as system implementations, process improvements, financial reporting initiatives, and regulatory compliance projects.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with finance leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans and monitor progress to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including finance, accounting, IT, and operations.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion.
  • Track project budgets and ensure efficient use of financial and organizational resources.
  • Prepare project status reports and present updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects comply with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial transparency.
  • Support change management efforts related to finance system implementations or process changes.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within finance, accounting, or financial systems environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and project management tools
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management certification such as PMP
  • Work experience utilizing SAP for daily responsibilities 
  • Prior use of operational systems such as EPM, VFT, Truckmate
  • CPA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
