Job description

ImageTek Manufacturing, a rapidly growing contract manufacturer in North Springfield, VT, is seeking a Financial Controller . The Financial Controller serves as the senior financial leader of the organization and is responsible for the integrity of all financial reporting, cost accounting, internal controls, budgeting, and financial analysis. This role partners closely with the General Manager and operational leadership to drive profitability, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting experience, deep knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing private company environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

· Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and bank reconciliations.

· Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

· Lead the annual external audit process and coordinate with outside auditors and tax advisors.

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

· Lead annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasts.

· Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results and provide actionable insights.

· Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, capital investments and growth planning.

· Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure operational stability.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

· Manage cost accounting functions including standard costing, product costing, new business costing and inventory valuation.

· Ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory.

· Partner with production leadership to analyze labor, material and overhead variances.

· Drive margin analysis by product line and recommend improvements to pricing and cost structures.

· Support capital expenditure analysis for equipment and operational investments.

Leadership & Process Improvement

· Lead and develop accounting team, providing coaching, training and performance management.

· Establish and document accounting policies and procedures and implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

· Identify opportunities for process and improvements and system enhancements.

· Collaborate with operations and executive leadership.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

· Strong Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting principals.

· 5+ years leading and directing financial management, budgeting and forecasting preferably in a manufacturing environment.

· Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

· Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills.

· Proven leadership skills with the ability to partner cross functionally.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
