Malta, MT • Remote

Full-time

Job description

About North Star Network

North Star Network (NSN) is a global sports and betting media group that builds and operates leading digital brands connecting sports fans and bettors across 30+ countries.

Our mission is to turn passion for sports and gaming into trusted information, data-driven insights, and responsible entertainment.

We’re a multicultural and fully remote company uniting 50+ in-house and 200+ external experts from more than 20 nationalities across Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Content Manager to oversee the end-to-end production of content across multiple GEOs.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating a network of freelance writers, proofreaders, and editors, ensuring that content is delivered on time, aligned with SEO priorities, and meets our editorial standards.

You’ll act as the operational backbone of the project managing workflows, preparing briefs, maintaining quality and ensuring smooth collaboration across time zones.

Key Responsibilities

1. Freelancer Coordination & Operations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for freelance writers across multiple GEOs, ensuring clear communication on assignments, deadlines, and feedback.

  • Maintain the Asana board shared with freelancers: keeping task statuses, deadlines, briefs, and assignments accurate and up to date at all times.

  • Find and onboard new freelancers when needed: walk them through guidelines, Asana workflow, and expectations.

  • Process and track freelancer invoices, ensuring accuracy, alignment with delivered work, and timely submission to finance.

2. Brief Preparation & Keyword Research

  • Conduct keyword research to identify content opportunities and assign target keywords to upcoming articles.

  • Adjust and tailor existing content briefs (provided by Team Leader) to match each GEO, freelancer, and target keyword.

  • Ensure briefs are clear, complete, and actionable before assigning to freelancers.

3. Quality Control & Content Review

  • Review content after it returns from proofreaders, performing a final editorial check on factual accuracy, brand alignment, structural adherence to the brief, and overall readability.

  • Flag recurring quality issues with specific freelancers or proofreaders and address them directly.

  • Ensure content meets brand guidelines and SEO requirements before handoff to publishing.

4. Publishing Handoff & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the point of contact for the Content Editor, ensuring approved content is handed off cleanly and published on time according to the editorial calendar.

  • Coordinate with the Content team on keyword priorities and content gaps for the project.

  • Communicate proactively with the Senior Content Manager or Team Leader on blockers, freelancer issues, or scheduling risks.

  • Contribute to process improvement by suggesting workflow enhancements or new tools.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in content management, editorial coordination, or similar roles.

  • Experience working with freelance contributors and managing remote workflows.

  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and keyword research.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different markets and time zones.

  • Strong communication skills in an international and cross-cultural environment.

  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana) and CMS platforms.

  • Fluent in English (additional italian, dutch, german, danish are a plus).

What We Offer

  • Work on a high-profile international project in partnership with a major sports media brand.

  • Fully remote work environment with flexible collaboration across time zones.

  • A fast-paced, multicultural team passionate about sports and digital media.

  • Ownership of operations and real impact on content performance.

  • Career growth opportunities within a scaling global company.

  • Competitive salary based on experience and seniority.
