Job description

Job Summary

The Senior Content Operations Manager is a senior individual-contributor role that owns the day-to-day operation of OTTera's owned-and-operated content brands and channels - covering all business aspects of the brands, logos, and partnerships in the portfolio, from content ingest and QC through programming, scheduling, viewership tracking, and monetization reporting to rights holders. Alongside this primary focus, the role also manages OTTera's relationships with major streaming platform partners: the technical and editorial requirements those partners place on OTTera and its content, and the curated topic and editorial lists used to deliver content onto those platforms.

As a senior member of the Operations team, this role is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, own end-to-end processes and their associated KPIs from day one, set the standard for content operations practices, and mentor coordinators and interns. It works closely with Customer Success, Delivery, AdOps, Distribution, Engineering, and Marketing to deliver a managed, best-in-class experience for OTTera's customers and content partners. This is a headquarters-based role in Los Angeles's North Hollywood Arts District.

Duties and Responsibilities

Content Operations (primary focus)

  • Own day-to-day operations for OTTera's owned-and-operated content brands and channels, including all brands, logos, and partnerships in the portfolio, holding accountability for the associated KPIs.
  • Own content ingest and QC for these channels, ensuring assets meet OTTera and platform-partner technical and metadata specifications, and define the standards others follow.
  • Lead programming, editorialization, and scheduling for assigned channels; build and maintain schedules that drive viewership and align with brand strategy.
  • Maintain channel artwork, EPG, descriptions, ratings, and other metadata across all distribution endpoints.
  • Coordinate with Distribution, Delivery, and Engineering on channel deliveries (Linear/HLS/XMLTV EPG, MRSS, third-party VMVPD, SSAI, IP-endpoint, syndication, etc.).
  • Track viewership and engagement trends across channels and platform partners; surface insights to inform programming and rights decisions.
  • Own the compilation and delivery of monthly monetization and viewership reports to rights holders in accordance with each agreement.
  • Understand operational costs and identify efficiencies; partner with Finance on month-end reporting and any accruals for assigned brands.
  • Own and maintain process documentation, runbooks, and onboarding materials to support continuity and team scaling.
  • Partner with Marketing/Social on promotion, brand integrity, and on-platform editorial moments (premieres, takeovers, seasonal events).
  • Mentor Content Operations coordinators and interns, review their work, and help set team standards and best practices.

Platform Partner Management (supporting focus)

  • Serve as a senior platform liaison for OTTera's major Platform Partners, including The Roku Channel and Samsung TV+, and support additional platforms assigned over time.
  • Maintain expert working knowledge of each assigned platform's technical, content, metadata, artwork, certification, advertising, and compliance requirements, and translate them into actionable internal processes and customer-facing guidance.
  • Monitor partner portals, dashboards, and audit reports to preempt compliance breaches; notify affected customers and coordinate with Delivery, Support, and AdOps on remediation and re-certification.
  • Maintain curated topic / genre / category lists for each assigned platform and audit partner platforms (FAST and AVOD) to verify correct presentation of titles, artwork, metadata, and menu placement.
  • Track new platform features and policy changes, keep internal documentation current, and support quarterly business reviews with Platform Partners.
Skills and Experience Required
  • 7+ years of experience in OTT/FAST/AVOD operations, content delivery, or platform partner management, including demonstrated senior-level ownership.
  • Expert working knowledge of major streaming platforms (Roku, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Amazon, Vidaa, Google) and their certification, content, and advertising requirements.
  • Deep experience with content management systems, metadata standards, EPG, artwork specifications, and FAST/AVOD delivery protocols (HLS, XMLTV, MRSS, SSAI, third-party VMVPD).
  • Proven ability to independently manage programming, scheduling, and editorialization for multiple linear or FAST channels.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to deliver compliance notices and coaching in a constructive, professional manner, and to lead partner reviews.
  • Proficient with Airtable, Excel, and PowerPoint for tracking, reporting, and partner reviews.
  • Solid grasp of viewership analytics and monetization reporting (CPM, fill rate, ad revenue, license fee reconciliation).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple platforms, channels, and partners simultaneously and set priorities independently.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving streaming environment; able to establish process where none exists and mentor others.
