About the Role:
Caramore Community, Inc. is looking for a compassionate and driven Certified Peer Support Specialist to join their team in Carrboro, NC. In this meaningful role, you'll use your own lived experience to inspire and empower individuals on their journey toward recovery and wellness. Responsibilities:
  • Provide peer support services to individuals living with mental health and/or substance use challenges
  • Build trusting, recovery-focused relationships with program participants using shared lived experience
  • Assist individuals in developing and achieving personal wellness and recovery goals
  • Facilitate peer support groups and educational workshops within the community
  • Connect participants with community resources, services, and support networks
  • Document services and maintain accurate records in compliance with program guidelines
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic, person-centered care
Requirements:
  • Active North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification required
  • Personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a non-judgmental, empathetic approach
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building authentic peer relationships
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete required documentation in a timely manner
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in human services a plus
