Specialty Coder Sr – Cardiology Location: Remote Eligible States: Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, or New Mexico Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Compensation: Up to $35/hour | Equivalent to ~$72,800/year Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, Holiday Pay Travel: None Start: ASAP Open Role Due To: Team Expansion and Increased Specialty Coding Volume About the Role Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a Specialty Coder Sr – Cardiology to support physician coding operations focused exclusively on professional fee (Profee) services. This role requires a highly experienced specialty coder with strong expertise in physician Cardiology coding , risk adjustment methodologies, and coding compliance. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and specialty coding guidelines while maintaining exceptional quality and productivity standards in a fast-paced remote environment.

What You'll Do Perform accurate professional fee (Profee) coding for Cardiology specialty services Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher Abstract and validate data within electronic medical record systems Ensure physician documentation supports accurate billing and minimizes denials Follow Official ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and AMA CPT coding guidelines Collaborate with HIM teams, Clinical Documentation Specialists, and leadership Support additional coding department initiatives and projects as needed Why This Role Stands Out Fully remote opportunity within approved states Long-term contract-to-hire opportunity with growth potential High-impact specialty coding role within a respected healthcare organization Opportunity to work alongside experienced coding leadership and CDI teams Competitive compensation and benefits package What We're Looking For Minimum 2+ years of Cardiology coding experience Strong professional fee (Profee) physician coding experience required Specialty coding certifications strongly preferred, Candidates must have held coding certification(s) for several years Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding guidelines Proven ability to maintain high coding accuracy and productivity standards Experience working within EMR systems and abstracting patient data Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Preferred Skills Experience coding high-dollar or specialty accounts Prior experience working remotely in a healthcare coding environment Familiarity with denial prevention and documentation improvement initiatives Experience collaborating with HIM and Clinical Documentation Integrity teams Interested?
