DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our growing Health Sciences (HS) Business Analytics team. In this role, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining analytics solutions using finance, research, and employee data to decision-support for leadership, faculty, and staff. You will collaborate closely with Health Sciences administration and department stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into efficient and scalable solutions.
The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer on the Health Sciences Business Intelligence team plays a critical role in developing and maintaining business intelligence applications and supporting data analysis.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, to understand and document their needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Business analysis and document complex business processes to support development of reporting and forecasting solutions.
  • Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from large, complex datasets to support analytical requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards and reports to visualize key metrics and trends.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports and dashboards by validating and cleaning data as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Research, Academic Administration, and IT, to provide actionable insights.
  • Prepare and effectively present your findings to business stakeholders, including executive management, in a concise fashion.
  • Support ad-hoc business studies/reporting.
  • Other job duties as defined.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five years of related experience/training.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
  • Strong experience in BI development using Tableau and data modeling, including creating complex dashboards, visualizations, and reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of data warehouse concepts, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Proficient in SQL (preferably SAP HANA), for data extraction and manipulation with ability to write extremely complex queries and optimize them for performance.
  • Knowledge in Accounting & Finance processes.
  • Experience in data validation and ensuring the accuracy of reports and visualizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across various teams, ensuring open communication and mutual understanding of business goals.
  • Works effectively with others by sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and contributing to a supportive environment that fosters teamwork and innovation.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $97,200 - $182,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $46.55 - $87.16
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
