Job description

Title: Azure Cloud Solution Architect

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX (3 days / week in the office)

18-month contract, 1099 will be considered. Pay rate is open - will discuss in more detail.

Are you ready to spearhead high-impact modernization for enterprise-scale environments? We are looking for a visionary Azure Cloud Solution Architect to lead the charge from monoliths to microservices. In this role, you won't just draw blueprints—you’ll own the technical roadmap for massive cloud transformations, driving innovation across global teams and shaping the future of resilient, scalable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architectural Ownership: Define and own end-to-end solution architectures, translating complex business requirements into secure, resilient technical designs.

  • Modernization Leadership: Drive large-scale initiatives, including on-prem to cloud migrations and the evolution of legacy systems into microservices.

  • Governance & Strategy: Lead design reviews, establish CI/CD and DevOps best practices, and evaluate emerging tools to align with enterprise goals.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the technical bridge between business, product, and infrastructure teams, facilitating workshops and executive-level presentations.

  • Mentorship: Provide hands-on leadership and technical guidance to engineering teams to elevate coding standards and cloud adoption.

Required Skills & Expertise
  • Azure Mastery: Deep hands-on experience with Azure services (AKS, Functions, Service Bus, API Management, App Services).

  • Development Background: Strong expertise in the .NET ecosystem (.NET 6+, ASP.NET MVC/Web API) and API-first design.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for automated environment provisioning.

  • Migration Strategy: Proven track record with large-scale migrations (100+ workloads) using tools like Azure Migrate or CloudEndure.

  • Modern Patterns: Expertise in Microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Event-Driven architectures.

  • DevOps & Containers: Strong command of Docker, Kubernetes (AKS/OpenShift), and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 8–10+ years in leadership or architectural roles within enterprise environments.

  • Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, or TOGAF.

  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) or other highly regulated sectors.

  • Advanced Tech: Familiarity with FinOps, AI/ML integration, or EDI/B2B platforms (Mulesoft/Seeburger).

Success in this role is measured by the delivery of high-availability systems, the elimination of performance bottlenecks, and the seamless execution of cloud transformations with zero data loss.
