What is a security training coordinator?

Security Training Coordinators are professionals responsible for developing, organizing, and delivering training programs related to security practices within an organization. They ensure that employees are aware of security protocols, understand compliance requirements, and are prepared to respond to potential threats. These coordinators may also update training materials, track attendance, and assess the effectiveness of training sessions to improve organizational security awareness.

How does a security training coordinator typically collaborate with other departments to ensure effective training programs?

As a Security Training Coordinator, you will regularly work with departments such as IT, HR, and Operations to develop, schedule, and tailor security training sessions to their specific needs. Collaboration involves gathering feedback on security concerns, aligning training content with company policies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are key, as you may coordinate cross-functional meetings, adapt materials for different audiences, and track training completion across teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a security training coordinator, and why are they important?
