Life doesn't always follow a fixed schedule. That's why we created the Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.
As a Security Officer - Flex Overnight in Reno, NV, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $25.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:
  • Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Perform armed patrols of municipal buildings, public areas, parking facilities, and perimeters to help identify and address suspicious activity, unauthorized access, and potential hazards.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, coordinating with law enforcement and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Monitor access points, conduct welfare checks, and provide a visible presence to help deter prohibited activity at government locations.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations through clear, accurate reports while maintaining assigned equipment and firearms in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
