Job description

The Network Security Specialist will be responsible for overseeing our systems and networks for any security threats, vulnerabilities or unauthorized user activity. Primary focus on utilizing top tier security applications to prevent, detect, and remediate any security threats to the company. The candidate would be ambitious, able to assist in designing, implementing, and supporting network security policies across all companies' sites. You will be a team player, working alongside our current Network Security Specialist and closely with our Systems, Networking, and IT Support specialists while reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager.

As the Network Security Specialist, your responsibilities would include:

  • Support the company's incident response program, creating playbooks and case reports on all security incidents
  • Develop and implement security protocols and procedures to protect the company's Network and Systems
  • Work closely with our Networking and Systems teams to ensure hardware and software are well maintained with the latest security patches
  • Conduct Security Awareness training for all staff members utilizing awareness training software
  • Research, Implement, and maintain endpoint security solutions and strategies to protect against unauthorized access, malware, and data leaks
  • Report on overall security program metrics to management
  • Perform audit of users' access, privileges, and accounts
  • Identify, Protect, detect and mitigate security intrusion attempts

Requirements

  • Full time onsite work
  • 2+ years security analyst or higher experience
  • 4+ years total IT experience
  • Positive attitude with ability to work well with multi-functional teams
  • Team player, sharing and expanding own understanding of technology via cross training
  • Effective business communication and technical writing skills

Bonus skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science
  • ISC2 CC, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+ GIFC, CCNA, SSCP, or CEH Certificates
  • Experience with SOC/SIEM, Anti-Virus Management, Email Security, O365 Admin Center, Azure, SharePoint, and Windows OS
