Distinction, LLC is seeking a dedicated and professional Safety/Security Advisor to help provide a safe, secure, and supportive environment for our students, staff, and visitors. This role is more than traditional security-it combines campus safety, mentorship, conflict resolution, and customer service to support student success while maintaining a secure learning environment.

What You'll Do
As a Safety/Security Advisor, you will:
  • Patrol campus buildings and grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Monitor facilities by checking doors, windows, locks, lighting, and emergency equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies, alarms, incidents, and safety concerns.
  • Prepare daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and document findings.
  • Verify identification and monitor access to campus in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with parking, traffic control, and visitor management.
  • Support emergency response efforts, including fire alarms and evacuation procedures.
  • Help maintain and inspect safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and alarm systems.
  • Partner with staff and local law enforcement when necessary to address safety concerns.
  • Promote positive behavior through conflict resolution and student mentoring.
  • Support student accountability, including monitoring student check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Participate in campus health and safety inspections and safety initiatives.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining a positive campus culture that is respectful, inclusive, and free from harassment, intimidation, and discrimination.
  • Support Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy and Career Success Standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Complete all required training and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in security, law enforcement, public safety, corrections, military, or a related field.
  • Strong observation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with young adults or in an educational environment.
  • CPR, First Aid, or other public safety certifications (preferred but not required).
