The Woodland Job Corps Center, located in Laurel, Maryland, sits on 33 acres of suburban land and is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the young people we serve. We are seeking a Safety & Security Advisor to help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive campus environment for students and staff.
Position Summary

The Safety & Security Advisor ensures a safe and secure campus by responding to incidents, de-escalating situations, monitoring surveillance systems, and maintaining a professional security presence. This role supports campus safety and student accountability in a structured residential environment.


Schedule

Friday–Tuesday | 11:30 PM – 8:30 AM
Off: Wednesday & Thursday


Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies and complete required reports
  • De-escalate conflicts and maintain a calm, professional presence
  • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of campus grounds
  • Monitor surveillance systems and report safety concerns
  • Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors at the Welcome Center
  • Support dorm inspections and campus security operations as needed
  • Communicate and collaborate with staff across departments
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow all safety protocols
  • Model professional behavior and Career Success Standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Job Corps or related program experience preferred
  • Valid in-state driver’s license required
  • Must meet company insurability requirements

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, stoop, and crouch as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to assess lifting demands and request assistance when necessary to ensure safe work practices
