Seasonal Rolling Loud Jobs (NOW HIRING)

As the Rolling Stock Mechanic, you will be a vital member at one of our Alaskan processing facilities responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of rolling stock, such as Flatbeds, Forklifts, and company vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting any mechanical and electrical problems, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring the safety and reliability of rolling stock equipment. Your expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues will be essential in keeping our equipment operational and minimizing downtime.

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of rolling stock, including flatbeds, forklifts, and company vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of rolling stock systems.
• Efficiently track all parts and inventory control for all facility vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of rolling stock.
• Keep a well-organized and maintained workspace to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure the facility and organization is fully supported and successful.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following functional and interpersonal competencies:

• Mechanical Expertise : Deep understanding of the mechanical systems and components of rolling stock, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension.
• Electrical Knowledge : Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, including wiring, control panels, and lighting.
• Diagnostic Skills : Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
• Maintenance Procedures : Knowledge of routine maintenance procedures, such as oil changes, inspections, and adjustments.
• Safety Regulations : Adherence to safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Equipment Operation : Proficiency in operating diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment used in rolling stock maintenance.

• Problem-Solving : Ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical problems.
• Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in work.
• Teamwork : Ability to work effectively with other mechanics and technicians in a team environment.
• Communication : Clear and effective communication with supervisors, coworkers, and other stakeholders.

• Dependability : Reliability and consistency in performing duties and responsibilities.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
• Position requires driven machinery certifications such as a forklift, expeditor or flatbed truck which in turn requires a valid driver's license.
• 3 years of forklift mechanic experience in all aspects including electrical preferred.
• Certifications in relevant areas, such as diesel engine mechanics or electrical maintenance, can enhance job prospects.
• Previous experience in Seafood or Manufacturing as receptionist or administrative role preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Position requires onsite presence at one of our Alaska processing facilities, and the ability to travel, including at times to remote locations.

While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
