Pay Range for this position is: $100,000-$125,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience and geographical location.




POSITION SUMMARY
The Area Sales Manager is a dedicated support, and selling resource assigned to a geographic region that will work to support the Channel Sales Manager. The individual will support the CSM in a sales capacity, working food shows, working with distributor sales reps, and selling end users. The position will require problem-solving, and organizing information/activities, to help facilitate growth within the region. In addition to the above, the position includes responsibility for New Item setup, Price List maintenance, Promotional set-up, and sample request/tracking.


Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Take an active role in the day-to-day activities and support the Channel Sales Manager.
  • Managing accounts that will be assigned to the role that falls within the region.
  • Work with Customers and Channel management on new item set-up, forecasting support, price list, and promotional maintenance.
  • Harvests data from the pricing tool to create opportunities to expand the sales on items already listed.
  • Monitor customers’ online platforms both passively and actively for any changes or updates that would affect the interest of the salesperson or the company.
  • Initial development and ongoing support for customer presentations.
  • Help create and maintain sales reports in support of the Channel Sales Manager.
  • Make customer presentations as part of their ongoing development.
  • Has full ownership of customer accounts that are assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years Business Experience
  • Associate’s Degree
  • Ability to effectively interact, engage and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Prior experience with QAD/Qlikview is preferred.
  • Moderate skill set in negotiation, analytical, and influencing external buyers.
  • Ability to manage private label accounts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting, driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.

FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.

OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.

VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
