What is seasonal color management?

Seasonal color management is the process of selecting, planning, and maintaining plantings—such as flowers and foliage—that provide vibrant color throughout different seasons. Professionals in this role assess landscapes, choose appropriate plant species for each season, and ensure the health and aesthetic appeal of these plantings. This work often involves designing color schemes, rotating plants, and monitoring environmental factors to keep landscapes visually attractive year-round.

What are the typical challenges faced in a Seasonal Color Management role during peak seasons?

In a Seasonal Color Management role, one of the main challenges during peak seasons is managing tight timelines for color approvals and sample turnarounds, as multiple collections may be developed simultaneously. Coordinating with designers, production teams, and suppliers can be complex, requiring strong organizational and communication skills to ensure color consistency across all products. Additionally, rapid market changes and last-minute adjustments to color palettes can demand quick decision-making and flexibility. Staying on top of color trends and maintaining accuracy under pressure are key to success in this fast-paced environment.
