They are popular among students, parents, retirees, and individuals seeking supplementary income or a flexible schedule. Part-time work can be found in various industries such as retail, food service, healthcare, and administration. These jobs may offer flexibility in work hours, but often do not include the same benefits as full-time employment, such as health insurance or paid time off.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time search engine evaluators, and how can they be managed?

Part-time search engine evaluators often face challenges such as maintaining focus during repetitive tasks, meeting strict productivity quotas, and adapting to frequently updated evaluation guidelines. To manage these, it's helpful to set up a distraction-free workspace, schedule regular breaks to avoid fatigue, and stay up-to-date with training materials provided by the employer. Effective time management and open communication with team leads can also make it easier to balance workload and expectations.

Position Title: Director of Business Development

Organization: Charity Search Group

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position: Part-Time, Remote; U.S. or Canada-based

Compensation: 70,000 - 100,000K + performance incentives (flexible, commensurate with experience)

About CSG

Charity Search Group is a national executive search firm serving nonprofits and higher education institutions exclusively. We partner with mission-driven organizations to recruit fundraising leaders, development professionals, and senior executives-roles where trust, judgment, and long-term fit are essential.

CSG is known for its relationship-centered, equity-informed approach to executive recruitment. Our work supports organizations across the U.S. and Canada, helping boards and leadership teams reduce hiring risk, strengthen organizational capacity, and build leadership aligned with mission and values.

The Role

The Director of Business Development is responsible for generating and growing new client relationships for Charity Search Group through a combination of trusted relationships, modern outbound outreach, and consultative engagement.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role focuses on opportunity development-not transactional sales. The Director will engage Executive Directors, CEOs, Board members, and senior development leaders in thoughtful conversations about leadership hiring needs, organizational risk, and long-term talent strategy.

This is a part-time, senior-level role well suited for someone with deep nonprofit fluency who understands how nonprofit leaders make decisions and values credibility, discretion, and relationship-building over volume-driven sales.

Impact Areas

Relationship Development & Market Presence

  • Build and deepen relationships with nonprofit executives, board leaders, and senior development professionals
  • Leverage existing networks and referral channels while expanding reach into new nonprofit audiences

Consultative Business Development

  • Lead high-trust conversations around executive and fundraising leadership needs
  • Advise nonprofit leaders on hiring strategy, organizational readiness, and risk mitigation

Modern Outreach & Pipeline Growth

  • Combine relationship-based development with thoughtful, CRM-driven outreach (email and LinkedIn)
  • Use data, research, and AI-assisted personalization to support targeted, human-centered outreach

Pipeline Ownership & Revenue Generation

  • Own the full business development lifecycle-from initial conversation through signed engagement
  • Build and manage a sustainable pipeline aligned with firm growth goals

Brand Alignment & Collaboration

  • Represent Charity Search Group's values, reputation, and approach in all external interactions
  • Collaborate closely with internal search consultants and leadership to ensure a strong handoff and client experience

Requirements

  • Background in fundraising, development, nonprofit leadership, executive search, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with nonprofit executives, board members, and senior advancement leaders
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, fundraising structures, and leadership decision-making
  • Experience generating opportunities through professional networks, referrals, and/or targeted outreach
  • Comfort engaging in consultative conversations about leadership hiring, organizational capacity, and risk
  • Familiarity with CRM-based outreach tools (email and LinkedIn), including sequencing and personalization, or a strong willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to build credibility, listen effectively, and guide strategic discussions
  • Highly self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage pipeline activity in a remote, part-time role

Benefits

To apply, please complete the online application. If you have questions or need accommodations, please contact Husani Bastien at husani@charitysearchgroup.com  or visit www.charitysearchgroup.com
