General Description

The Senior Director, Global eCommerce is responsible for developing and executing Schleich's global eCommerce strategy across both Business-to-Business (B2B) and Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) channels. This role provides strategic leadership for our digital commerce ecosystem, ensuring scalable platforms, outstanding customer experiences, and sustainable growth across global markets. Reporting to the President of Schleich North America, this leader partners closely with global and regional stakeholders while leading a team based in Charlotte and Munich.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Schleich's global eCommerce strategy across B2B and D2C channels.
  • Create multi-year roadmaps and investment plans that support profitable growth.
  • Drive platform optimization, customer experience improvements, and digital innovation.
  • Lead and develop a global eCommerce team, including oversight of the Director of Global D2C.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, IT, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to deliver business objectives.
  • Utilize analytics and market insights to drive strategic decisions and performance improvements.
  • Champion a customer-focused, digitally driven, AI-enabled culture across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in eCommerce or digital commerce.
  • Experience leading both B2B and D2C eCommerce strategies and operations.
  • Proven success managing global teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with Amazon 1P or another major online retailer.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms, analytics, customer experience, and digital technologies.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Commerce, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 15%).
