We are seeking a Scale House Attendant to join our team in San Jose, CA. This role will help foster a safe, positive, and high-performing work environment where employees can thrive and deliver their best each day.

Position Summary

GreenWaste is looking for a highly motivated, professional, self-directed, and enthusiastic Scale House Attendant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and works well within a collaborative team. The role has a significant learning curve, and strong performance in the key functions, skills, and qualifications below is essential for success.

This position is based at our facility located at 675 & 705 Los Esteros Rd, San Jose, CA. Some job-related travel may be required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist customers by providing accurate service information, quoting costs, and processing payments for inbound and outbound transactions.
  • Learn and accurately classify materials while reviewing waste loads.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, managers, and customers in a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail, especially during data entry.
  • Manage traffic control and provide clear directions to customers for safe material offloading.
  • Demonstrate consistent punctuality and excellent attendance.
  • Be open to cross-training at other nearby sites as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and printing
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
  • Reliable with a strong attendance record
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
