Job description

Summary:

To provide engineered access solutions for BrandSafways Applications, with a specific focus on construction hoist and its run-back platform structures, shoring, work platform, overhead protection, scaffold, sidewalk bridge, fence in addition to other access systems. This role will also involve supporting steel fabrication activities, including preparation of fabrication drawings and collaboration with shop teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and have hands-on experience designing, reviewing, and sealing engineered drawings and calculations for access systems mentioned in summary.

Perform detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and design for steel fabrication and erection. Develop fabrication drawings, connection details, and bill of materials. Coordinate closely with fabrication shops, field teams, and engineering staff to ensure accuracy, constructability, and timely delivery of projects. Provide technical oversight during fabrication and erection to resolve design and shop issues.

Perform detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and design for access systems, primarily focused on construction hoist and its run-back platform structures (four poles, star leg, and mast towers) along with other temporary structure projects involving shoring and bracing, scaffold, mast climbers, work platforms, roof protections, sidewalk shed, construction fence, and suspended systems.

Prepare drawing submittals using AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Advance Steel for fabrication and erection purposes.

Receives general administrative direction and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.

Discuss all projects up to level 3 in detail with branch/customer and be able to answer all inquiries.

Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.

Represents the organization in communications and conferences.

Develops complete project documents and reviews for conformity and quality assurance.

Designs and conducts experiments and analyzes and interprets data.

Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments.

Assists upper-level management and staff as a technical advisor.

Assists in reviewing scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.

Communicate concepts to drafters/designers/engineer I.

Check drawings for up to level 3 difficulty.

Qualifications:

4-6 years of experience.

Bachelor's degree in engineering from accredited program, master's degree or equivalent, engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues, doctorate for faculty.

Have PE license in NY & NJ.

Ability to obtain other state PE licensure.

Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Full knowledge in using appropriate safety factors in scaffold design.

Able to perform and check calculations.

Full knowledge of and ability to develop Engineering calculators.

Able to review/obtain necessary information for level 3.

Proficient in utilizing advanced CAD & 3D model skills at drafting intermediate complexity projects using Revit.

Advances skills on general application.

Knowledge of non-linear analysis.

Full knowledge of regulations and codes.

Ability to obtain project information from site visit.

Knowledge in site inspections of commonly used product lines.

Ability to train others in basic knowledge.
