Job description

Role: SAP TECHNICAL WRITER (tech writing projects with SAP - S/4 HANA systems)

Location: Hybrid onsite, 1-2 days per week, Sacramento, CA  

Must Have’s

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Writing in IT with SAP modules experience related to the enterprise contact center environments.
  • ( recent experience - Experience in at least 2 or 3 SAP Projects with experience documenting Business Processes that align with SAP modules and configurations.
  • Understanding of business operations and workflows within industries including Utility, power plants, environmental, industrial or manufacturing similar organizations.
  • Experience mapping and analyzing complex business processes. Utilize mapping software (Visio) to create visual representations of each process.
  • Technical writing projects experience Developing detailed business process documentation and process flow mappings to support the SAP - S/4 HANA system design and configuration.

 

POSITION SUMMARY -

 

Responsibilities include:

 

• Collaborate closely with clients project stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand current business processes.

• Develop detailed business process documentation and process flow mappings to support the SAP S/4 HANA system design and configuration.

• Utilize mapping software (e.g., Visio) to create visual representations of each process.

• Ensure that each process map includes key steps, decision points, roles, and inputs/outputs.

• Document and route for review and approval, all processes named in process inventory documents.

• The resource will be embedded within Client’s project team, receiving directions and assignments from Client’s Project team.

• Work hours and tasks will be tracked on a time and materials basis, offering flexibility to meet project demands.

• The individual will comply with Client’s policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct consistent with Client’s workforce standards.

Mandatory Requirements

 

1. Minimum of 5 Years as a Technical Writer

The candidate must have at least five years of professional experience in technical writing, preferably in an IT or business environment.

 This experience should demonstrate the individual’s ability to create clear, concise, and accurate documentation tailored to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The candidate should be proficient in developing various types of documents such as business process manuals, user guides, training materials, and technical specifications. Strong editing and organizational skills

are essential to ensure consistency and high quality across all deliverables. Experience in managing multiple documentation projects simultaneously and working collaboratively with

cross-functional teams is highly desirable.

 

2. Experience in at least Three SAP Project Documenting Business Processes

The candidate must have prior experience working on at least 3 SAP Projects or support projects specifically focused on documenting business processes documentation that aligns with SAP modules and configurations.

 

The individual should be familiar with the SAP environment and terminology, enabling them to translate complex technical concepts into user-

friendly language.

 

Experience with tools commonly used for process mapping and documentation in SAP projects is preferred.

This expertise ensures the candidate caneffectively contribute to the project by producing accurate, actionable process documentation.

 

Technical Requirements

 

• 3+ years of SAP modules experience related to the ECC environment.

• Understanding of business operations and workflows within utility or similar organizations.

• Proven ability to map and analyze complex business processes effectively.

• Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce technical documentation that is clear, concise, and tailored to diverse audiences.

• Experience using specialized documentation tools (e.g., process mapping software (Visio), document management systems).

• Proficiency with screenshot and image editing tools to create enhanced, visually clear documentation.

• Ability to translate technical jargon and complex concepts into user-friendly language for business and technical stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple documentation efforts concurrently and meet project deadlines.
