Job description

Job Title: SAP Functional Lead
 Employment Type: Full-Time
Role Overview
 We are looking for a seasoned SAP Functional Lead with a robust functional background and extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA transformations. This is a customer-facing, onshore position that requires active engagement in solution design, delivery, and pre-sales activities. The ideal candidate will effectively bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, driving comprehensive SAP implementations and playing a pivotal role in shaping transformation initiatives for our enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Delivery
  • Oversee the complete SAP S/4HANA solution architecture across various functional areas such as Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Procure-to-Pay.
  • Convert business requirements into scalable and integrated SAP solutions.
  • Establish target architecture, roadmap, and transformation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with SAP best practices and industry standards.
  • Provide leadership throughout implementation, migration (from ECC to S/4HANA), and rollout initiatives.
Functional Expertise
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, etc.).
  • Facilitate fit-gap analysis, process re-engineering, and solution design workshops.
  • Optimize business processes using S/4HANA capabilities, including Fiori and Embedded Analytics.
Pre-Sales & Business Development
  • Assist in pre-sales activities, including:
    • Solution design and proposal development
    • Effort estimation and pricing strategies
    • Client presentations, demonstrations, and responses to RFPs/RFIs
  • Collaborate with sales teams to shape deals and secure new business opportunities.
  • Provide thought leadership on digital transformation and SAP roadmaps.
Customer Engagement
  • Act as a trusted advisor to both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Lead discussions and workshops at the executive level.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Offer guidance on best practices, innovations, and future-state architecture.
Governance & Leadership
  • Establish and enforce architecture governance and standards.
  • Mentor and support both offshore and onshore teams.
  • Ensure quality delivery while adhering to timelines and budgetary constraints.

Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in SAP with a strong functional background.
  • 5+ years in a Functional Lead role.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple SAP S/4HANA implementations (Greenfield, Brownfield, or Hybrid).
  • Deep expertise in at least one core functional area (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, etc.) with knowledge of cross-module integration.
  • Proven experience in pre-sales, solution development, and client presentations.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • SAP S/4HANA architecture
    • SAP Fiori and UX strategy
    • Integration with both SAP and non-SAP systems
  • Experience in customer-facing, onshore roles in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industries such as Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Manufacturing, Retail, or Pharmaceuticals.
  • Familiarity with RISE with SAP, SAP BTP, and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • SAP certifications in S/4HANA or relevant modules.
  • Experience with Agile/Activate methodologies.
