Job description

Job Overview
This position is responsible for supporting the sanding department by inspecting wood components, completing light repairs, and assisting with sanding and material movement throughout production. The Sanding Production Associate must follow work instructions, maintain quality standards, keep their work area clean and safe, and rotate between tasks to support workflow and reduce repetitive movement.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities may vary based on daily production needs.

  • Component Inspection & Repair: Check loose parts and identify defects. Perform small repairs as needed (example: applying putty during mid-inspection).
  • Panel Catching: Remove panels from the panel sander and place finished panels into carts carefully and efficiently.
  • Edge Sanding: Use a handheld orbital sander to smooth outer edges of doors and components for a clean finish.
  • Material Handling / Runner: Move carts by pushing or pulling them to the correct work areas and staging locations throughout the facility.
