Hours: Full-Time, Permanent, 40 hours a week minimum, opportunities for over time

  • Regular Shift: This is a 2nd Shift position. The regular schedule is Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
  • Training Period Shift: Training will take place on 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. The length of the training period may vary depending on progress. After training is complete, the schedule will transition to the regular 2nd Shift hours of 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

Position Overview:

Dayton-Granger, Inc. is immediately hiring a Sanding & Finishing Specialist (Fiberglass or Composites Experience) to join our production team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is a full-time, direct hire role in a clean and structured aerospace manufacturing environment. You'll work with fiberglass and composite parts, performing sanding, filling, and prepping for paint. If you have sanding experience related to auto body repair, composites, fiberglass finishing, or marine surface prep, this could be a great fit for you!

We're looking for candidates with hands-on sanding/finishing and body filler experience using tools like dual action sanders and grinders, and strong attention to detail. You'll play a key role in preparing high-performance antennas to meet the industry's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sand and prepare fiberglass and composite antennas for painting and finishing

  • Apply minimal body fillers and compounds to smooth part surfaces and correct minor imperfections

  • Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and specifications

  • Use hand and power tools, including dual action sanders and grinders

  • Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety protocols

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with fiberglass finishing, sanding, or surface preparation

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Ability to work 1st Shift hours (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) during the training period and transition to the regular 2nd Shift schedule (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) once training is complete.

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and blueprints

  • Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs and performing physical tasks

  • Good vision, attention to detail, and steady hand-eye coordination

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Basic computer skills for job tracking and data entry

  • Ability to wear PPE and remain on feet for extended periods

  • Prior experience in aerospace, marine, or automotive finishing environments is a plus
