Job Title: Paint, Masking, Sanding

Job Description:

Performs all functions involved in painting aluminum and composite truck bodies while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Ensures that painting procedures are performed efficiently and are within designated specifications and established delivery schedules.

Essential Functions and Activities:

  • Inspects vehicle for surface defects prior to final paint staging area.
  • Refers to work orders/specifications to determine paint codes to be used on upcoming units and follows mixing instructions from Vendor color System.
  • Selects appropriate paint color per work order, mixes paint per Vendor requirements and tests paint on sample surface for proper consistency and color.
  • Sprays paint on vehicle until proper millage is obtained.
  • Maintains cleanliness of Paint Booth and mixing area.
  • Supports and participates in Morgan Olsonโ€™s PPS team efforts.
  • Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer-focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
  • Other duties as required.

Physical Requirements/Hazards:

  • Job requires extensive standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, and turning to assemble parts. Lifting will involve fabricated parts and assemblies weighing anywhere from several pounds to 50 pounds. Parts weighing more than 50 pounds are handled with a hoist or with help from another team member.
  • PPE:ย Safety shoes, Safety glasses with side shields are always required. Other PPE such as hearing protection, gloves, safety goggles, respirators, etc. may be required depending upon the task at hand.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-3 years of automotive related top-coat painting, touch up painting, or automotive paint experience preferred
