Automotive Paint Prep Tech
Description:
As a member of the paint team, a Prep Tech is tasked with various duties that assist in preparing a vehicle by sanding. It is preferred that a Prep Tech/Painter’s Helper have a basic understanding of automotive paint principals and a basic knowledge of different paint products.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Inspect parts for paint defects
  • Prepare vehicles and parts for the masking team
  • Sanding vehicle or parts using proper equipment to prepare it for paint process.
  • Assist maskers and painters with all prep related items.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Some experience in an automotive paint shop or body shop setting preferred
Requires the Following Skills:
  • Must be able to multi-task while ensuring follow up and execution of required tasks
  • High degree of organization and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be willing to assist peers, teach and help out as well as exude flexibility
