Description:

As our Senior Salesforce CPQ Consultant, you'll be the internal subject matter expert and technical owner of our CPQ platform. You'll work at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution - translating complex pricing models, approval workflows, and product catalog requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions. This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on our sales velocity and revenue recognition.

  • Own the end-to-end architecture, design, and governance of Salesforce CPQ across product catalog, pricing, discounting, quoting, and contracting
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Product teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Lead CPQ configuration and customization efforts including price rules, product rules, approval workflows, order management, and amendments/renewals
  • Evaluate, plan, and execute platform upgrades, new feature rollouts, and integrations with adjacent systems (ERP, billing, CRM)
  • Define and enforce CPQ data model standards, naming conventions, and best practices
  • Mentor and guide junior Salesforce admins and developers on CPQ functionality and design patterns
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex CPQ issues and production support
  • Drive adoption of new capabilities including advanced approvals, guided selling, and DocuSign/Leah contract generation

Required Skills:

  • 12 years of Salesforce platform experience, with at least 6 years focused on Salesforce CPQ (Steelbrick)
  • Deep expertise in CPQ configuration: product catalog, pricing waterfall, bundle/option constraints, output documents, and approval chains
  • Strong understanding of quote-to-cash processes and how CPQ integrates with CRM, ERP, and billing systems
  • Proven experience leading CPQ implementations or major re-architecture efforts in an in-house environment
  • Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification (required)
  • Ability to write and review Apex, LWC, and SOQL as needed for custom CPQ extensions

  • Familiarity with integration platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar)
  • Experience in SaaS, subscription, or usage-based pricing models
  • Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certification

Nice to Have

  • Experience migrating from legacy CPQ tools (e.g., ApttConga, PROS, or custom-built quoting)
  • Exposure to agile/scrum delivery methodologies
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools for Salesforce (Copado, Gearset, etc.)
