Job Title: Project Estimator
Department: Warehouse Equipment Implementation
Location: Westfield, IN, Kansas City, MO, Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time

This position will be an integral part of the Warehouse Equipment Implementation team, generating proposals based upon customer needs. This position will work closely with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Account Managers during the solutions development phase of the sales cycle.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with Account Managers to evaluate customer needs, design and present the best solution to the customer

Own proposal generation from start to finish, leveraging information provided by Account Managers to scope projects and supply a formal proposal for customer review

Reviewing customer-supplied scopes and/or formal Requests for Proposal (RFPs)

Creating project counts/takeoffs to build material BOM and labor scopes

Work with third-party vendors and subcontractor partners to solicit price, lead time, and project timeline estimates for the proposal

Work with third-party PE partners for preliminary engineering designs to support customer needs for specific locations and scopes

Facilitate Proposal-to-Project handoff meetings with Project Managers, reviewing proposal scope, customer deliverables, budget, and risks

Collaborate with internal drafting and design team to create (and update, as needed) design drawings to support proposals

Support project management team with Sales Order Form generation and submission to Project Coordinator team for material-only orders

Support Implementation team by maintaining internal reporting and budgeting tools:

o Vendor lead time updates and Vendor Portal information

o Vendor quick-ship inventories and updates

o Internal estimator tool updates

o Internal budget pricing tool updates

o Maintain Vendor-specific documents and folders

Perform risk management to minimize project risks

Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

Adhere to company proposal processes, including using the latest tools and formatting standards

Participate in internal projects as required

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Highly detail-oriented, ability to manage critical deadlines

Ability to multitask effectively & prioritize & execute tasks

Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented,

collaborative environment is essential

Ability to work through solution design and vendor pricing with internal and external partners

Technically competent and proficient with various software

programs: Excel, Word, Outlook, AutoCAD, Smartsheet

Strong written and oral communication skills: In-person meetings, email,

phone calls

Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies

Strong technical aptitude - highly knowledgeable of industry systems

including complex integrated systems and components

BA/BS or equivalent experience

1-2 years of experience as an Estimator, or comparable experience in a project management or sales support role
