Description

Location: Hybrid near Indianapolis/Shelbyville, IN

Travel: Occasional (customer meetings and site visits)

Industry: Medical Device, Automotive, & Advanced Manufacturing

Who Should Apply: Recent college graduates and experienced professionals alike - no minimum years of experience required.

PMC SMART Solutions is hiring a Sales Analyst/Account Manager to drive retention, deep customer relationships, profitability, and long-term sustainability across assigned customer relationships by serving as the primary commercial liaison for awarded and sustaining business. This is a rare opportunity to build a career at the center of the business - working directly with the world's largest medical device and automotive tier 1 OEMs on products that impact millions of lives.

Why PMC SMART Solutions?

Privately owned since 1929, PMC has spent over 90 years as a leader in plastic injection molding and contract manufacturing - a legacy of stability and partnership with our customers that continues to set us apart today.

As a globally recognized, award-winning contract manufacturer, PMC delivers precision-engineered medical devices and automotive components for industry leaders including Medtronic, Stryker, Baxter, Cook Medical, alongside leading automotive tier 1 OEMs including Bosch and SumiRiko.

Our expertise spans design for manufacturability, injection molding, assembly, packaging, and sterilization management, all backed by ISO 13485 certification, FDA registration, and Class 8 clean rooms.

This role is built for curious, motivated self-starters - the kind of person who wants to understand how an entire company works, not just one function. As a Sales Analyst/Account Manager, you'll sit at the intersection of sales, engineering, finance, operations, and quality, gaining exposure most early-career roles never offer:

  • Financial analysis - learn to read margins, pricing, and forecasts, and see firsthand how commercial decisions drive business results.
  • Communication & collaboration - build real relationships with customer executives and internal teams across Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Finance, and Operations.
  • Leadership development - get mentored on how to own a book of business, lead cross-functional projects, and influence without direct authority.
  • Career growth - this role is a launchpad for growth as you build your career with PMC.

What You Will Do

As a Sales Analyst/Account Manager, you'll own the customer relationship for programs in project launch and production for assigned accounts. You will lead communications and commercial execution for assigned accounts, balancing customer expectations with business objectives through strong account leadership, ensuring timely and accurate quoting, proactive issue resolution, and reliable forecasting and reporting.

Account Retention & Growth

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to protect business, preserve margins, and support healthy, growing customer relationships.
  • Support new business development leaders on assigned accounts, including new Requests for Quotes (RFQs), proposal development, and commercial support.
  • Build strong multi-level customer relationships and identify key decision-makers.
  • Lead account reviews, customer visits to PMC, and satisfaction check-ins.

Quoting, Estimating, & Pricing

  • Own commercial activities across assigned accounts, including RFQs, pricing adjustments, and contract management.
  • Lead timely and accurate quoting, proposals, and cost estimates for launching programs and sustaining production changes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Finance, and Operations to validate feasibility, lead times, and margins.

Customer Support & Issue Resolution

  • Act as the internal advocate for customer experience across all departments.
  • Coordinate issue resolution (quality, delivery, billing, and commercial concerns) with internal teams.
  • Attend project launch meetings and ensure alignment on quoted scope and re-quote needs.

Forecasting & Reporting

  • Collect updated product forecasts on a recurring basis; validate accuracy against historical demand and production schedules and document assumptions/variances.
  • Evaluate forecasts in the context of market dynamics, capacity constraints, and expected cost/price fluctuations to inform planning.
  • Support annual sales planning by gathering 12-36 month forecasts, analyzing trends, and estimating unit price changes; track KPIs such as on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and account growth.

What We Offer

Beyond meaningful work with industry-leading customers, PMC offers competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package, and real investment in your professional development - including mentorship, cross-functional exposure, and a clear path for career growth within the company.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering/Technical, Marketing, or Business preferred).
  • A curious, self-starter mindset with a genuine interest in learning how a business runs end-to-end.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence engaging both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated; proactive and customer-focused.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and site visits.
  • Prior account management, inside sales, or engineering in manufacturing is a plus, but not required - for recent graduates, relevant internship experience is preferred, and we provide the training and mentorship to set new graduates up for success.
