Job description

This is where your work makes a difference. At Baxter, we believe every person - regardless of who they are or where they are from - deserves a chance to live a healthy life. It was our founding belief in 1931 and continues to be our guiding principle. We are redefining healthcare delivery to make a greater impact today, tomorrow, and beyond. Our Baxter colleagues are united by our Mission to Save and Sustain Lives. Together, our community is driven by a culture of courage, trust, and collaboration. Every individual is empowered to take ownership and make a meaningful impact. We strive for efficient and effective operations, and we hold each other accountable for delivering exceptional results. Here, you will find more than just a job - you will find purpose and pride.

Your Role at Baxter THIS IS WHERE you build trust to achieve results As a Field Sales Performance Manager, you take pride in representing our Advanced Surgery division at Baxter.

Being one of our Advanced Surgery Field Sales Performance Managers, you'll play an integral role in developing our sales talent and elevating clinical and commercial capability across the organization. This is a leadership role that sits on each area leadership team: the successful candidate earns influence by coaching, mentoring, and building a culture of continuous learning and performance across the field.

Partnering closely with the Area Vice President, the Director of Global Commercial Training, and the Sales Training and Programs teams, the Area Education Manager assesses readiness and delivers education that accelerates the development of both new and tenured sales representatives while supporting local HCP education programs.

Are you ready to be the next clinical sales leader on our Advanced Surgical team?

What you'll be doing:
  • Being responsible for the quota of new hires in area; leading small teams, building trust and influence across the field to drive consistent adoption of selling skills, clinical knowledge, and best practices.
  • Coaching and mentoring peers and sales representatives through direct supervision, 1:1 calls, field rides, field coaching reports, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Building culture by mentoring new hires throughout their new-hire journey, providing supervision both remotely and in person, and teaching the three pillars: Commercial Selling Skills, Customer Knowledge, and Product Knowledge.
  • Creating new educational content and experiences that accelerate the development of skills relevant to the success of both tenured and new advanced surgery sales representatives.
  • Partnering with the Director of Global Commercial Training and the Area Vice President to identify, plan, and deliver training for all sales roles reporting to the Area Vice President.
  • Delivering training and holding regularly occurring in-person and virtual training meetings with a variety of internal customer groups based on the needs of the business.
  • Playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the sales workforce by facilitating comprehensive Baxter Advanced Surgery training, with a primary focus on clinical and practical sales knowledge across the employee lifecycle.
  • Assisting in leading regional/national sales meetings and helping facilitate new-product training and the updating of existing materials.
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR 8+ years of operating room sales experience.
  • The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience with hospital-based selling in the OR, as well as experience coaching, training, or mentoring peers.
  • At least 50% travel is required and may involve visits to remote or urban areas, either individually or with other personnel, as the position will have a geography that may span several states.
  • Proven experience coaching, mentoring, or training small teams and developing others toward measurable performance gains.
  • Knowledge of adult-learning methodologies and experience managing or creating medical education programs and content.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and excellent customer-service skills.
  • Strong creative problem-solving and influence-management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and participate in numerous projects in a fast-paced environment in an organized manner while meeting deadlines.
  • Individuals must live near a major metropolitan airport and must have a valid driver's license.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated pay range for this position is 110,000 - 130,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less within the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
