Job description

A growing outdoor technology company with a proprietary, category-defining trail camera and cellular connectivity system is seeking a Sales Manager to lead its dealer and independent representative network. This is a rare opportunity to build a meaningful career at the intersection of cutting‑edge product technology and a genuine passion for hunting and fishing. The right candidate will own relationships across a national independent rep network, drive revenue through consumer show participation, and serve as the product knowledge authority for dealers and reps alike. With no direct worldwide competitor to the company's core connectivity platform, this role offers the unique advantage of selling on true product merit — not price. The position offers significant influence, a clear path to senior leadership, and a culture where performance earns autonomy.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Master the full product line to serve as the foremost internal expert on all technical features and system capabilities
  • Manage and motivate a network of 20–25 independent sales representatives across three national agencies
  • Conduct monthly or more frequent outreach to each sales representative to maintain engagement and momentum
  • Develop and deliver monthly performance summary reports for each representative and territory
  • Train independent reps and dealers on new products, pricing, promotions, and active marketing campaigns
  • Provide ongoing technical product support to dealers to improve sell-through and customer satisfaction
  • Manage national dealer accounts including large-format retailers, balancing volume expectations with margin strategy
  • Seek out and cultivate new sales opportunities to fill geographic and channel voids in the market
  • Represent the company at 10–15 consumer trade shows and hunting expos annually, including active booth duties
  • Travel nationally approximately 30 days per year to work alongside top-performing reps and coach underperformers
  • Report monthly to leadership on dealer and customer feedback, product issues, competitive intelligence, and sales trends
  • Complete dealer onboarding documentation, including retailer vendor agreements
  • Set up and manage e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, as assigned
  • Serve as backup for order entry into company accounting systems as needed
Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years of progressive sales experience with demonstrated advancement in responsibility
  • Experience managing or working alongside independent sales representatives or multi-line rep agencies
  • Genuine, authentic passion for hunting and/or fishing — critical for credibility with reps, dealers, and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and communicate complex technical products to non-technical audiences
  • Coachable, strong listening skills, and openness to learning a new and unique sales model
  • Willingness and ability to work full-time on-site in the Green Bay / Neenah, Wisconsin area — remote and hybrid not available
  • Availability to travel nationally approximately 30 days per year
  • Comfort and enthusiasm for staffing booths at consumer hunting and fishing expos throughout the year
  • Doer mentality — hands‑on executor, not a delegator
Preferred
  • Engineering education or background in electronics, mechanical, or automation fields
  • Prior experience selling to or managing relationships with independent dealers in the hunting and fishing industry
  • Familiarity with the hunting/outdoor retail supply chain, including large national accounts and independent retailers
  • Experience with Amazon and e-commerce platform management
  • 5+ years within the hunting, fishing, or outdoor recreation industry
  • Exposure to cellular technology, subscription-based product models, or IoT-connected devices
