Job description

Title: Regional Sales Manager, USA
Reports to: Sales Manager East or West, USA
Location: Nashville, TN or Birmingham, AL
Pay rate: $120,000-$160,000/year
The Regional Sales Manager oversees all customer sales and channel activities within the designated geographical region, with a primary focus on achieving revenue growth and profit objectives for the company. This role entails developing and implementing strategic initiatives to expand market coverage for Armstrong solutions within the commercial HVAC, commercial Plumbing, and Service marketplace. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships within our representative network and key stakeholders; including consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and building owners, to ensure comprehensive coverage and support.
In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:
Business Development Activities:
  • Execute sales process to meet and exceed revenue targets within the assigned region, delivering the Armstrong Design Envelope Value Proposition.
  • Utilize CRM software to track sales activities, manage leads, and generate reports for management review.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with representatives, consulting engineers, contractors, and end users, serving as a trusted advisor and resource for their needs.
  • Actively engage with representatives to drive product awareness and increase market penetration.
  • Collaborate with consulting engineers to provide technical expertise and guidance on product selection and application.
  • Support contractors throughout the project lifecycle, from specification to installation and startup, ensuring smooth and successful project execution.
  • Establish rapport with end users to understand their specific requirements and provide tailored solutions to address their challenges.
  • Conduct regular meetings and site visits to foster relationships and address any concerns or inquiries promptly.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform strategic decision-making.

Regional Leadership and Representation:
  • Execute and Support Vertical Segment initiatives within region.
  • Expansion of Service network & Service revenue growth within region.
  • Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders and constituents.
  • Manage inter-customer relationships within region to avoid conflict.

Role Requirements:
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent sales, marketing and leadership experience.
  • PE, LEED/A/P, trade organization membership a plus.
  • HVAC chilled water plant and system application expertise.
  • Desire to learn and stay educated in industry innovations and technology.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management skills.
  • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well thought-out recommendations.
  • Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action.
  • Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
  • Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations.
  • Domestic travel required (40-50%), must have valid passport.
  • High performance cultural fit with the US team required.
