Job Summary:
Daiichi Sankyo US is a global healthcare company focused on improving lives through innovative medicines. The Manager, Forecasting & Business Analytics will provide forecasting and analytics support to facilitate the development of enhanced reporting analytics and prepare performance reports for internal stakeholders, while also conducting various analyses to aid in commercial and budgeting decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain daily/ weekly/ monthly/ quarterly/ annual/ ad-hoc business performance and analytics.
• Own the reporting process by actively developing Excel/VBA based performance dashboards and tracking sources of variances vs. the forecast.
• Facilitate the discussion on various analytics and activities required to accurately and efficiently support performance analysis and forecasts update in order to provide necessary reporting for various business stakeholders and management.
• Support Forecasting Director in communicating forecast/performance results to Brand and Sr. Management.
• Analyze secondary data and desk market research (quantitative and qualitative) to identify key findings and trends and further incorporate them into the forecast/budgeting processes.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses and provide insights to business questions from different stakeholders, which will help them shape up their strategies.
• Should have hands-on experience handling patient/claims data, demand/ex-factory data and be able understand and review Market and Epidemiology Assessment, Pipeline Analysis and market research.
• Extensive understanding of major pharmaceutical market events such as US drug formulary, pricing, inventory challenges and market access implications including knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
• Thorough understanding of at least 2 therapeutic areas.
• Experience in Oncology forecasting or rare disorders will be a plus.
• Develop deep knowledge of the brands therapeutic area and competitive landscape.
• Work closely with the Forecasting Director and Brand teams to be aware of the trends and evolving dynamics and identify future events.
• Work with the Insights team to gather relevant forecasting data and interpret primary research and secondary analysis to assess the effect of market events.
• Work with market access and the contract analytics teams to understand the dynamics in the managed care markets and their potential impact on the revenue and profitability of the brand.
• Assist in the process of Net Sales forecasting (Annual Plan, Latest Estimates, other business requirements and/or Alliance forecasts) by closely working with the Forecasting Director.
• Help the Assist in the process by which forecast assumptions and results are reviewed and help drive decision-making on forecast assumptions with DSI stakeholders, including Alliance partners.
• Maintain and support the forecasting team’s ecosystem which includes ADC forecast model management, data management (claims, demand, etc.) and proactively drive reporting files development.
• Participate and help drive new forecast models/solutions development and customizations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 4 or More Years of commensurate experience in pharma business analytics and data reporting required
• 1 or More Years One or more of performance tracking, promotional, sales, prescription, payer and patient data analytics experience required
• Technical knowledge of modeling tools (e.g. Excel) and data sources (e.g. Symphony, IQVIA Kantar Health, etc.) required
Preferred:
• Pharma Brand Forecasting (Demand and Patient based), Analytics, Market Access, or Finance experience preferred
• Deep knowledge of therapeutic areas that DSI competes in (oncology) or demonstrated ability to develop that knowledge preferred
