Company: HAGLER Process | Chattanooga & Kingsport, TN

Location: Middle Tennessee | Hybrid/Remote- Preferably lives in Middle Tennessee (must be able to travel across Middle TN, and also visit our Chattanooga, TN and Kingsport, TN locations)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Summary

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for developing new business, growing existing customer relationships, and providing technical sales support to industrial and manufacturing clients. This role combines sales expertise with a strong understanding of industrial equipment, engineering principles, and customer applications.

The Sales Engineer will work directly with engineers, maintenance teams, plant personnel, purchasing departments, contractors, and other decision-makers to understand customer needs and recommend effective equipment and process solutions. The ideal candidate will have proven industrial sales experience, a strong technical or engineering background, and established relationships within the industrial market. Candidates who bring an existing book of business or transferable customer relationships are strongly encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

· Develop new business opportunities within industrial and manufacturing markets

· Manage and grow relationships with existing customers

· Prospect for new accounts and build a strong, sustainable sales pipeline

· Meet with customers to understand their processes, applications, equipment needs, and operational challenges

· Recommend pumps, mechanical seals, process equipment, and other appropriate technical solutions

· Prepare and present proposals, quotations, technical recommendations, and product information

· Conduct customer site visits, sales meetings, product presentations, and follow-up activities

· Build relationships with engineers, maintenance and reliability personnel, plant management, purchasing teams, contractors, and other key decision-makers

· Manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle, from initial prospecting and technical evaluation through closing and ongoing account management

· Work closely with HAGLER Process team members and manufacturing partners to develop solutions that meet customer requirements

· Maintain strong product knowledge and stay informed about industrial equipment, applications, and market developments

· Identify opportunities to expand HAGLER Process products and services within existing customer accounts

· Maintain accurate records of customer activity, opportunities, quotations, and follow-up

· Represent HAGLER Process professionally with customers, vendors, manufacturers, and industry partners


Qualifications

· 5+ years of industrial sales, technical sales, sales engineering, applications engineering, or related experience preferred

· Experience within industrial, manufacturing, process, mechanical, chemical, or related markets

· Strong technical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment and applications

· Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, technical degree, or equivalent combination of relevant industrial and technical experience preferred

· Experience with pumps, mechanical seals, rotating equipment, fluid handling systems, process equipment, or related products is preferred

· Proven ability to develop customer relationships, identify opportunities, and generate new business

· Existing industry relationships or transferable book of business is highly valued

· Ability to understand customer applications and communicate technical solutions effectively

· Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

· Self-motivated with excellent organization, time management, and follow-through

· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the HAGLER Process team

· Ability and willingness to travel locally and regionally for customer meetings and site visits as needed

Compensation

· Annual salary range of $60,000–$120,000

· Compensation will be determined based on relevant sales experience, technical and engineering knowledge, industrial market experience, established customer relationships, and existing book of business

· Candidates with a proven sales history and established book of business may qualify toward the higher end of the compensation range
