Job description

Job Title: Sales Engineer
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Reports to: Manager, Sales
Overview
The Sales Engineer (inside sales) interacts directly with our customers, driving sales, providing sales support and customer service. While providing excellent service and building the business with existing accounts and seeking new opportunities. This role contributes to the sales team by meeting or exceeding monthly sales targets while increasing profitability and providing professional sales assistance and customer service.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Respond to customer inquiries and determine full scope of client needs regarding product solutions, pricing and potential delivery dates.
• Collaborate with external sales, including commissioned representatives to:
o Provide quotation support across the broad spectrum of Thermon products
o Assist in identifying opportunities for the external sales team to manage
o Prospecting initiatives to a potential customer list as provided by marketing or external sales
• Prospect for other potential applications in both new and existing client base.
• Participate in lead generation strategies and follow up activities.
• Evaluate current quote conversion rates and incoming order dates to devise and execute win-back strategies
• Maintain a log of which customers have been contacted - CRM, the outcome of each interaction and issues that need to be flagged for follow up
• Provide customers with product information and technical support where required
• Other tasks assigned by management team
Qualifications
• Post-secondary technical diploma or degree; and/or
• Three or more years of related experience in the industry--successful industrial order management or customer service experience in a technologically advanced environment or suitable background in an industrial engineering, project management or operations environment.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in telephone sales or business development sales
• Microsoft Dynamics AX experience is considered an asset
• Work experience quoting and handling orders for engineered product solutions is a plus
