Job description

TECHNICAL SALES ARCHITECT

The Starlink Enterprise Sales team is hiring a results-driven Technical Sales Architect to support Starlink's adoption around the world. Starlink brings an unprecedented opportunity to significantly impact communities, businesses, and governments worldwide. The role will focus on integrating the Starlink service with Network Vendors around the world and developing joint value propositions around the integration. This role is part of a high velocity team with extremely high expectations - this position requires deep technical and business acumen to support the Enterprise Sales team in meeting revenue targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive Starlink's integration engagements with 3rd party networking vendors with guidance/support from wider Technical Sales Architecture team
  • Collaborate with Starlink Marketing and 3rd party integration peers to develop joint value propositions and technical solution guides to enable customers, and internal sales/channel teams
  • Work closely with Starlink product engineering teams to onboard completed solutions into Starlink's internal test environments
  • Support the technical sales engagements of the broader team, answering customer questions specific to Starlink's 3rd party integration efforts
  • Work in partnership with our Marketing, Licensing, Government Affairs, Finance, Legal, and Product Engineering teams
  • Consult with product engineering on best practices, reference architectures, and technical guides demonstrating integration details and value proposition of Starlink
  • Represent Starlink at conferences and events

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or 3+ years of professional working experience in lieu of a degree
  • 3+ years of professional experience in technical sales
  • 3+ years of professional hands-on experience building and deploying enterprise network infrastructure

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Industry recognized Computer Networking Certifications
  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn new technical skills
  • Coachable interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting using packet capture or TCP dump analysis
  • Highly detail oriented, diligent, and hard working with excellent customer interface skills
  • Coachable proficiency in one or many common domains of computer networking:
    • Common IETF and 3GPP standards
    • Network monitoring with sFlow, RFC 2544, Y.1564, TWAMP, POLQA
    • TCP, IPv4, IPv6, LACP, VLAN, DSCP, COS, DHCP, DNS, NAT, OSFP and BGP
    • Tunneling methodologies including IPSEC, VXLAN, MPLS, and L2/L3VPN
    • SD-WAN solutions
    • Linux networking and user-space network stack
  • Coachable proficiency with at least one programming/scripting language

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time including to customer locations and other SpaceX locations
  • This position is based in Redmond, WA and requires being onsite when not traveling with customers

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: 

Technical Sales Architect/Level I: $82,000.00 - $110,000.00
Technical Sales Architect/Level II: $105,000.00 - $150,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.

This position is also eligible for a sales bonus plan.
