Job description

The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We currently have an opening for a Continuous Improvement Analyst. The Continuous Improvement Analyst will be responsible for the implementation and execution of Continuous Improvement (CI) methods and tools across the Wasserstrom organization. They will engage associates and leaders throughout the company to identify continuous improvement opportunities. The analyst will lead CI tasks such as: problem solving / root cause identification, data analysis, current and future state process charting, focused improvements, and performance metrics.

The successful candidate will be able to clearly and effectively communicate project results to drive action and build consensus. This person must have significant experience performing detailed data analysis. Candidate will have continuous improvement, lean six sigma, and/or other direct project management experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and all levels of the organization to develop, implement and sustain optimal business solutions for operations and office projects.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth interviews, meetings, and workshops to identify current and future state processes and identify waste.
  • Utilize data driven methodology to prioritize efforts, determine root causes, and develop optimal solutions.
  • Critically evaluate information and challenge the status quo
  • Consult and influence to increase employees’ engagement in continuous improvement and adaptation of process changes.
  • Partner with business and IT teams to explore and pilot AI-enabled continuous improvement and automation use cases.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to identify improvement opportunities, accelerate root cause analysis, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Analyze and improve end-to-end business processes using data from enterprise systems such as SAP.
  • Ensure that project goals are met and sustained. Ensure all continuous improvement procedures are followed.

Qualifications:

  • Robust analytical skills with substantial experience synthesizing data.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, expert level skills with MS Excel.
  • Experience creating reports and data visualizations using Power BI to communicate insights and track performance metrics.
  • Hands-on experience using SAP to support operational analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Solid organization skills with strong attention to detail required.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Continuous improvement, lean six sigma, root cause analysis, process mapping and other direct project management experience needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Candidate must be on-site at our headquarters location in Columbus.
  • Readiness to leverage new automation and AI tools and technologies to streamline work and improve business operations

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Kaizen Leader and/or Green Belt/Black Belt certification preferred.

Candidate must have at least 1-2 years’ solid root cause analysis and continuous improvement experience.
