Job Description

We are seeking a Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Engineer to support the analysis, testing, and evaluation of materials, components, processes, and technologies to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with applicable requirements and specifications. This role will support failure investigations, root cause analysis, process improvements, and the development of NDE methods and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply NDE methods and approaches, including acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and radiologic principles, to evaluate parts, materials, processes, technologies, and equipment.
  • Lead and conduct complex analyses of failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures.
  • Develop test plans, identify and categorize failures, determine root causes, and document results and recommendations.
  • Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development, validation, and revision of procedures and specifications.
  • Evaluate the suitability of parts, materials, and processes and coordinate issue resolution with suppliers and customers.
  • Support audits, failure investigations, and root cause analyses as a subject matter expert.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives involving the design, development, fabrication, testing, evaluation, and implementation of new concepts and technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Support Team Leads in strategy development, work statement execution, and technical consultation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools and systems, including CAD/CAM, CATIA, Mentor Graphics, or Unigraphics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in NDE/NDT engineering within a regulated industry such as aerospace, defense, or energy.
  • Experience with ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection.
  • ASNT Level II certification in multiple NDE methods preferred.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects across locations.
  • Active/Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required.

Education / Experience:

  •  Associate Technical Degree or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
