A Roofer Apprentice is an entry-level worker who learns the trade of roofing through hands-on training under experienced roofers. Apprentices assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs while gaining knowledge of safety procedures, materials, and tools. The role involves physical labor, working at heights, and exposure to various weather conditions. Over time, apprentices develop the skills needed to become journeyman roofers.
As a Roofer Apprentice, your day usually starts early with a team safety meeting and reviewing the day’s project plans. You’ll assist experienced roofers by transporting materials, removing old roofing, installing new shingles or membranes, and ensuring work areas are clean and safe. Much of your learning happens on the job, as you gradually take on more complex tasks under supervision. You’ll work outdoors in various weather conditions and must be comfortable with physical activity, heights, and following strict safety protocols. This hands-on experience is key to building the skills needed for advancement in the roofing trade.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a reliable and motivated Technician Helper to support our roofing technicians on job sites throughout the Memphis area.
Position OverviewThe Technician Helper assists experienced roofing technicians with daily job-site operations. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in the commercial roofing industry with opportunities for growth and advancement for dependable team members.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with installation and repair of commercial roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, metal, and other systems
Load, unload, and transport roofing materials, tools, and equipment
Remove debris and old roofing materials from job sites
Help set up ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment
Operate basic hand and power tools as needed
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Follow instructions from supervisors and senior technicians
Comply with all safety policies and procedures
Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in various weather conditions
Basic construction or roofing experience is a plus, but not required
Ability to work well in a team environment
Willingness to follow instructions and safety guidelines
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Good communication skills
