Common challenges include adapting to a higher level of autonomy, managing more critical cases, and effectively communicating with interdisciplinary teams. To prepare, candidates should focus on strengthening their clinical knowledge, seeking mentorship from experienced RNs in similar roles, and developing strong organizational and communication skills. Proactively pursuing continuing education or certifications relevant to their clinical area can also boost confidence and readiness for the new responsibilities.
