JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing AP/AR processes, managing internal controls, and maintaining strict documentation for audit purposes. They will collaborate with the senior controller to complete audits, month end close, and invoicing of clients

Essential Functions

  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Assist with managing cash flow by tracking all accounts receivable and facilitating collection from clients.
  • Perform reconciliations of ledger accounts.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
  • Leadership: Direct the Finance and accounting team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training.

A set of core skills, including deep financial expertise, strategic planning abilities, leadership and communication skills, technological savvy, and an understanding of regulatory and compliance issues.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is a combination of desk work and hands-on applications within the company

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday.

Travel

Travel is required to multiple locations as business needs demand up to 30% may be expected.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.


Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
  • Three to Five years or more of related experience required.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
