Job description

Maschmeyer Concrete is currently seeking a Risk & Compliance Manager to oversee the Company's risk management, insurance, litigation coordination, and regulatory compliance functions.
The primary responsibility of the Risk & Compliance Manager is to identify and manage areas of risk across the organization while developing strategies to reduce exposure and strengthen company practices. This position will oversee claims strategy, coordinate significant accidents and incidents, manage relationships with insurance partners and outside counsel, monitor regulatory compliance, and provide leadership with meaningful insight into claims, litigation, and operational risk trends.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Significant experience in risk management, insurance, claims management, regulatory compliance, or a related field
  • Experience managing workers' compensation, commercial auto, general liability, property, and other insurance claims
  • Experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, transportation, heavy industrial, or a related operational environment; preferred
  • Strong understanding of claims management, reserves, insurance programs, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ability to analyze claims, accident, litigation, and other risk data to identify trends and areas of exposure
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively work with executive leadership, operational management, and other departments

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee workers' compensation, commercial auto, general liability, property, and other insurance claims
  • Review significant claims, reserves, and claim strategies and coordinate with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators
  • Analyze claims, accidents, litigation, and related costs to identify trends and areas of organizational exposure
  • Recommend and coordinate risk mitigation initiatives based on identified trends and operational exposures
  • Serve as the Company liaison with outside counsel and coordinate litigation and significant claims with Company leadership
  • Monitor compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate regulatory audits and inspections and monitor corrective actions through completion
  • Develop and maintain risk and compliance policies, procedures, and recordkeeping practices
  • Monitor commercial driver safety performance and identify trends requiring corrective action
  • Develop and provide regular risk reporting to executive leadership, including claims activity, litigation, costs, trends, and areas of emerging risk
  • Assist with annual insurance renewals, loss runs, and information required by insurance brokers and carriers
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, outside counsel, and other risk management partners
  • Participate in safety and leadership meetings as appropriate
