Summary:
The Junior Systems Administrator provides day-to-day support, maintenance, and monitoring of organizational IT systems and infrastructure under the guidance of senior technical staff. This role assists with system administration activities, troubleshooting, user support, security updates, and system performance monitoring to ensure a stable and reliable IT environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Windows and Linux systems.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and operational health.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-related issues and escalate as needed.
  • Support user account administration, access management, and permissions management.
  • Apply security patches, updates, and system configurations in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Assist with system backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and technical issues.
  • Support virtualization platforms and infrastructure components as required.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators and other IT personnel to maintain system reliability and performance.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
  • Foundational knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with user account and access management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
  • Relevant industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent).

Salary Disclosure:
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
