Job description

Rutgers Federal Credit Union

Member Experience Representative/Teller

General Summary

Assists in building valued financial relationships with our members by actively recommending and cross-selling Rutgers Federal Credit Union (RFCU) products and services that best meet our members’ financial needs while providing outstanding professional service and answering all member inquiries.

Essential Functions

· Assist all members, in-person or on the telephone, in a professional, timely and courteous manner; following established standards and guidelines for excellent member relations and efficiency.

· Perform routine member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers and check cashing. Sell money orders, cashier’s checks, and gift cards. Accept requests for stop payments, wire transfers, perform file maintenance on accounts, order debit/ATM cards and various other items. Provide member statements and check copies. Provide accurate accounting of transactions by balancing cash and checks daily.

· Accurately opens and closes memberships as needed.

· Understands the credit union’s financial goals and strategic direction.

· Proactively supports the “sales and service” culture.

· Utilizes account information to ask pertinent questions to assess member’s financial needs to offer the best products and services.

· Assist members with telephone banking, online banking, E-Statements, mobile banking, direct deposit, incoming and outgoing wires, and account changes.

· Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all credit union products and services along with the benefits and features of each.

· Understands and follows all credit union policies and procedures.

· Assist in balancing Automated Teller Machine (ATM).

· Ensure that all information and transactions regarding RFCU, and RFCU members, is kept confidential.

· Stay current with operational changes, regulations and required training.

· Assist other departments as necessary.

Position Requirements

· Requires completion of high school education.

· Prior work experience in customer service with cash handling experience.

· Excellent member service and effective verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong cross-selling skills.

· Strong knowledge and understanding of financial products and services.

· Knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.

· Intermediate mathematical skills.

· A positive, professional image and a high degree of confidentiality within the workplace.

· Must demonstrate proficiency on the Fiserv system following training.
