Job description

Summary: The Risk & Underwriting Advisor, Retail Network, is responsible for developing and implementing client-specific retail network pricing strategies that ensure competitive positioning in the marketplace. This role collaborates closely with Supply Chain teams and cross-functional stakeholders-including Retail Network Underwriting Analysis, Product, Sales & Account Management (SAM), Core Underwriting, and Next Generation Engine (NGE) Support-to optimize retail network modeling for Health Plan clients and new sales opportunities. The Advisor also provides expert support for ad hoc and complex underwriting analyses with potential financial impact.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Pricing & Modeling
    • Develop tailored retail network pricing strategies for renewing clients and new sales opportunities, including RFPs, Direct Renewals, and Market Checks.
    • Deliver competitive offers by leveraging market intelligence and client-specific data.
  • Analytical Support
    • Provide underwriting support for all retail network ad hoc analyses with potential financial implications.
    • Conduct quantitative and financial cost modeling for clients across diverse lines of business, including Commercial, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and Health Care Exchange.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Communicate effectively with Senior Leadership, SAM, and other business partners to present ESI opportunities and drive financial results.
    • Prepare and deliver strategic presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Collaboration & Project Participation
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to strategize and deliver optimized retail network solutions.
    • Participate actively in department and company-wide projects, contributing expertise and innovative thinking.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Finance preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years plus of relevant financial or analytical experience.
  • Preferred experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), Managed Care, Healthcare, or Pharmaceutical industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively to achieve shared objectives.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven decision-making abilities, with a solid understanding of key financial indicators.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
  • High motivation and perseverance in the face of challenges.
  • Strong business acumen, leadership qualities, innovative mindset, and customer-centric approach.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • If you live within 50 miles of one of our locations, you will be required to work in the office 3 days a week, all other candidates will be 100% remote

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 88,700 - 147,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
