Sourcing and Pipeline
- Proactively identify new investment themes and develop/maintain relevant strategic theses to guide sourcing efforts
- Develop strong relationships across The Cigna Group to understand strategic priorities and initiatives
- Own and improve data-driven processes for managing our deal pipeline
- Qualify opportunities according to Cigna Ventures' criteria via initial contact, data gathering/assessment, and establishing relationships with founders
Due Diligence
- Evaluate and assess information from potential companies and internal/external experts
- Lead key parts of rigorous investment diligence (e.g., market, financial and valuation analysis)
- Draft highly polished investment memos and other materials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience in consulting, venture capital, and/or investment banking (background in healthcare services preferred)
Skills and Competencies:
- Detail-Oriented: self-starter with ability to successfully operate in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Critical Thinking and Intellectual Curiosity: superior research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Highly Collaborative: successfully operate across multiple work streams and levels of leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to quickly gather and synthesize information into clear, concise, and actionable messaging.
