Role Overview: SeniorAccountant, Revenue Accounting

Arlington, VA | In-office, Monday-Friday

We are seeking hands-onSeniorAccountant,Revenue Accountingtoprepareworkpapers forrevenue accounting function.This role willbe responsible forpreparingworkpapersrelated torevenue recognition, ensuring compliance with ASC 606,optimizingfinancial processes, and partnering cross-functionally to support Costar's continued growth.

The ideal candidate hasknowledgein SaaS/software and eCommerce business models, including subscription-based revenuestreamsrevenue accounting.

Revenue Accounting & Compliance

  • Prepare workpapers related torevenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, ensuringaccurateandtimelyrevenue reporting.

  • Prepare the workpapersand interpretation ofcustomer contracts, ensuring proper accounting treatment and adherence to revenue policies.

  • Ensure to applyprocess improvements in revenue recognition, billing, and reporting to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance and internal controls related to revenue processes.

  • Coordinatewith external auditors to support revenue-related audit requirements.

  • Preparemonthly and quarterly revenue close processesrelatedworkpapers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper cut-off.


Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Product teams to evaluate revenue implications of new business models, pricing strategies, and product offerings.

  • Review SaaS, software, and professional services contracts, ensuring proper revenue treatment andidentifyingrisks.


Systems & Process Optimization

  • Enhance and automate revenue accounting processesleveragingOracleFusion.

  • Drive scalability in revenue operations to support Costar's continued expansion across global markets.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financeor related from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.

  • A track recordof commitment to prior employers.

  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Experience working in or auditing large international public companies.

  • Knowledgein ASC 606 and revenue recognition

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting.

  • CPA or equivalent designationstronglypreferred.

  • Experience within SaaS/software and eCommerce business models, including subscription-based revenue streams.

  • Experience working in a high-growth, global organization.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive continuous process improvement.
